1. Avoid carelessness in handling the substances.
   


2. Handle them with reverence, with the knowledge and respect that they have divine nature in them.
   


3. Keep them away from places of constant defilement.
   


4. Those following should not touch holy substance unless when it is urgently necessary to do so:
   • Anybody who have touched corpse, grave or bone of a dead person.
   • Any person who is defiled.
   • A woman in her monthly menstrual period.
   
   
5. Keep them in a clean place.
   


6. Avoid frequent touching when they are not in use.
   


7. Touch them only when it is necessary to do so.
   


8. Keep vessels used for prayers, worship or religious ceremony separate from everyday domestic utensils.
